Stephan Johnstone was born and raised in Devils Hole, Bermuda and is one of the few, if not the only Bermudian Poet to release two full poetry albums before the age of 26. Stephan, who is also a graphic designer, award winning Webmaster and entrepreneur has been writing for as long as he can remember. Yet, it wasn’t until 2005 when he met James Brookes, owner of Limestone Productions, through mutual friend Mandela Fubler, started to perform regularly at Bermuda’s legendary open mic session, Chewstick, and with advice & inspiration from Bermuda's Premier Dub Poet, Ras Mykkal, Stephan started to take writing, performing and recording seriously.

In Dec 2006 he released his debut album entitled Broken Thoughts and won Best Bermudian Spoken Word Artist at Tha Underground Awards the same year. Stephan describes Broken Thoughts, which was released online for free download, as the sound track to his life up until that point.

Stephan's sophomore album, The Script Keeper, was released April 20th 2009 and went on to win Best Bermudian CD Project of 2009 at Tha Underground Awards. The Script Keeper Album was also featured in Bermuda's daily news paper, The Royal Gazette, (Cick here to read Story 1 & Story 2). Stephan has also been featured by,'s Famous Onion Blog, ShowOff Magazine's Online Blog and in The Bermuda Sun.

On October 2nd 2010 Stephan had the honour to perform with the Chewstick Crew in opening for Toni Braxton at the Bermuda Music Festival. On January 29th 2011 he opened for Heather Nova at The Bermuda Festival of The Performing Arts.

Today Stephan lives between Bermuda and Toronto, Canada where he runs his design company, SJDWORLD, by day and performs his poetry by night. With so much on the horizon make sure to keep an ear out for his next album Librago due to be relased September 23rd 2011, but in the mean time enjoy his Broken Thoughts and The Script Keeper.
